Laurelhurst

Laurelhurst is a Neighborhood in the Central east side section of Portland, Oregon. It is a neighborhood with distinguished parks and park like walkable winding streets. It is one of Portland’s original planned neighborhoods designed with family-sized houses. The gilded statue of Joan of Arc in the roundabout marks the center of the neighborhood. More about the history of Laurelhurst can be found here.

In the top left photo, there is a interior living room with a classic arrangement of bookshelves on either side of the fireplace. We replaced the windows in this room with wooden windows in a custom design to match the craftsman style.

The kitchens are often a meeting place a center in the houses as seen in the middle photo. We were able to build a large walnut butcher block island for this spacious kitchen. The walnut is a native Oregon tree and the wood was sourced from Oregon.

We have worked on some Laurelhurst houses that have bathrooms that need updating but want to keep some of the classic style components. In the photo to the right a Carrara marble seat and accent tiles are combined with modern dual function rain head and hand-held shower. We found room in the attic for the new bathroom. By taking a bit space from a bed room and a bit of space from a closet we were able to build a master suite in the existing upstairs foot print of the house.

What our clients are saying...

Green light was recommended by friends and I will recommend to others. Their level of detail and quality was excellent. They were upfront and realistic about costs from the beginning. They were on time, very clean and tidy, and kept us up to date almost daily with emails and in-person contact. You might find cheaper options but you won’t get the level of quality and integrity that you will with Green light.
