The addition of a 12×12 ft bedroom to this Portland Craftsman style house was done to accommodate a growing family. This project combined craftsman style elements with green and efficient building practices. The structure of the house was upgraded from the foundation up through the house. The new vaulted ceiling and walls were insulated using recycled cotton insulation. New insulated wood interior and clad exterior windows were installed and trimmed to match the style of the house. The siding was done in red cedar shingles. The front fascia boards were cut in a decorative pattern. Low VOC paints were used to finish the project.
